-THE ROLE-
Working within a dynamic team that employs Agile Scrum workload planning, the Principal MIS Data Officer plays a key role in the production and reporting of student and other institutional data. The post holder will collaborate closely with Registry, and Finance, as well as University Institutes and other Professional Services.
Reporting to the Executive Systems Development Officer, the post holder will take the lead on at least one technical area within the MIS Data team. They will apply strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to identify, communicate, and resolve issues—maximising the value and impact of University data.
Duties in this role may include:
• Producing data for external bodies
• Creating management summaries to accompany data returns for review by senior managers and other stakeholders
• Developing technical documentation for internal and external audits
• Ensuring data quality, consistency, and integrity for both internal and external purposes
• Providing and auditing data checks for data owners
• Analysing key outputs from major data sets and assessing their potential impact on the University
• Collaborating with colleagues to identify and resolve data discrepancies and quality issues
• Working with stakeholders to analyse specific requirements and criteria for fulfilling data requests
