- THE ROLE -
The role of the Principal Systems Development Officer (Business Analyst) in the university's Software Development Department involves analysing the business requirements of different university departments to recommend and specify new software or enhancements to existing software, aiming to improve efficiency and productivity. Additionally, the Principal Systems Development Officer plays a key role in developing test plans and supervising testing processes to ensure the quality and reliability of the software solutions implemented.
The chosen candidate will help improve current procedures concerning the entire student journey (from Admissions to Enrolment and Graduation) and associated applications, while also playing a role in ongoing enhancement efforts.
The post holder will utilise 'Agile Scrum' workload planning, software programs, and applications to aid in the implementation and integration of internally developed and externally sourced applications. Embracing Agile principles, the individual will assist in regularly delivering functional software in iterative cycles
The goal is to enhance the user experience of University software for applicants, students, and staff by implementing user-friendly interfaces with streamlined workflows. This will require ongoing collaboration with colleagues and stakeholders to capture evolving needs and design specific software solutions to address them
