- THE ROLE –
The Digital Technical Support Manager provides operational leadership for the university’s IT and AV technical support services, ensuring reliable, high-quality and user-focused services across all campuses. Working closely with the Head of Digital Support Services, the role drives continuous improvement and ensures effective support for learning, teaching, research and professional services.
As the senior operational lead, the post holder oversees service performance, complex incident escalation and day-to-day service delivery, using their expertise and judgement to ensure services are resilient, sustainable and aligned with departmental goals.
The role develops and maintains effective operational processes, documentation and knowledge-management practices, using service data and trends to improve quality, manage risks and enhance reliability.
The post holder also provides line management, coaching and guidance to colleagues, supporting their development and promoting a collaborative, high-performing culture. They build effective relationships with academic and professional services staff and third-party suppliers to ensure services continue to meet institutional needs and respond to technological change.
