UWTSD now teaches over 16,000 students across its six campuses in the UK; four in Wales and two in England. It has long-standing international educational partnerships in Europe, China, Malaysia, the USA and elsewhere.
Our aim is to transform education, and by doing so transform the lives of the individuals and the communities we serve. We are already recognised for providing an outstanding student experience:
• 1st in Wales and 2nd in the UK for Student Satisfaction (Times Higher Education, July 2025)

Our success is due to the commitment, skill, knowledge, and ability of our people working together. We are now building on this strong culture and provision to become a leading provider of accessible higher education.
- THE ROLE –
The Institute for Sustainable Practice, Innovation, Research and Enterprise (INSPIRE) provides central support for knowledge exchange, enterprise, business engagement and regional partnerships, enabling the University to maximise impact from its research and teaching. Within this role you will lead the development of contract research, tendering, and externally funded project proposals University-wide. Align bid and tender submissions with UWTSD’s Research and Innovation Strategy, RWIF objectives. You will gather intelligence on funding opportunities, including government, and commercial tenders, to inform strategic planning. Build and maintain long-term relationships with key funders and stakeholders.

The Project Development Officer will be responsible for managing the end-to-end development of bids and tenders, including scope definition, technical content, resource allocation, risk management, and submission. You will ensure submissions meet all funder requirements, deadlines, and quality standards, delivering innovative, evidence-based proposals.
